I could here so many blue tits in the background while you were talking. We were walking on a country lane in Somerset once and just like you, we came across 2 fighting. We discovered later that they were probably 2 males fighting over a female. I thought your chat about music was really interesting. Dan, do you like ELO? I didn't until I watched them playing on a recording of Glastonbury.

Easy way to tell a moorhen from a coot, is to remember the phrase,"as bald as a coot" the coot has a white patch on the top of its head and you can imagine it's a bald patch. The RSPB has a bird identifier on its site. I use it a lot! And if you hear a song you don't recognise, there are movie clips with sound too. Really useful.
